Critical thinking is the process by which you look at text critically and attempt to anyalyze the text for a deeper meaning than what appears to be just on the surface.Thinking criticaly means to look at the issue/matter more deeply and not just what the text appears to be. Almost everything has a deeper meaning than what it may appear to be, and critical thinking will help you see and understand the deeper meaning.Critical thinking help and see what the issue really is, and how it may connect to other things the author is talking about. Author of a book may write a simple sentence, but if you think critically you can see what he is really trying to say within the context of the text, and you will see the deeper more complex withing the same text that you would never see without critical thinking.

In my opinion, before you THINK something, you should KNOW something first. So the critical thinking basises on the reading, and basises the thing that you have the knowledge of the area that you think.

    What is critical thinking?

Critical thinking is a gift bestowed upon humans to think about a subject or problem in a logical and analytical way. It certainly is unique exclusively to us and it has allowed the human race to achieve accomplishments such as building a nuclear power plant, deduce the structure of an atom, and even send a human to space. If one tries to spend an eternity teaching a dog or an ant about math it will amount to nothing. Critical thinking is an amazing cognitive ability and is fascinating to see the fruit of its results.

Critical thinking is making sure you understand the subject clearly, in other words anaylse. Understanding everything around it for example do not take one side. Having an open mind is a very good trait to have. You are able to listen to other points of view which can help you in your studies.

Critical thinking to me is more then just reading a lesson, and answering questions in essay form. Its more like reading in between the lines of what is being asked, and expressing your answer in a more in depth way. Example, I’m being asked to write about what critical thinking is, a simple minded person would probably say thinking deeply into your work, but logistic person would say what I said.

    What is critical thinking?

Critical thinking is when a person is able to analyze a certain issue or topic they are given and use what they have come up with to form a conclusion. Instead of simply skimming the surface of an issue or topic, they look deeper into the issue and try to understand the underlying meaning. They use the ideas and evidence that they have discovered and tie them together to form a conclusion.

    What is Critical Thinking?
Critical thinking is when you go in depth into a subject or a matter or easier read as thinking hard. When I think critically I usually like to look up what I am trying to understand, before I can even begin my brain to working. Critical thinking helps expands your knowledge and helps you go further than you usually would just by thinking regularly.

Response to the question: What is critical thinking?

To think critically is to actively evaluate all the visible and sensory material that approaches one’s mind. With the use of life experience, logical reason, and accurate language, cognitive beings, humankind, are gifted with the ability to assess and judge the world around them.

    What is critical thinking.
Critical thinking is the ability to reflect on a situation or an issue from different angles. Critical thinking does not mean that we should blindly believe in what the media or the environment wants to make us believe, critical thinking goes beyond this and makes a person questioning and wondering about a circumstance. Critical thinking can protect us from manipulation.

Critical thinking to me is how you analyze cultural and other ideas about what’s going on in the world around you. It is the ability to make your own ideas and write them down while also having your own opinion on the subject, using facts and evidence to back up your ideas. It is a test of your logic and also opens up your mind to ideas and opinions that you wouldn’t usually focus on in an English class. Critical thinking is an important skill to have in life because it is part of your individualism. It is what sets your opinion apart from others.

    Critical Thinking:

Critical thinking is a way of processing information to either learn from it or to analize it for you benefit. Critical thinking is not everyday thinking, it requires deep thought, brainstorming, many hours of processing information.

    What is critical thinking?

I believe critical thinking is a matter of deciphering and trying to fully understand what is being expressed and the argument it possesses. I also think it is a way of reflecting about yourself and the actions you do and why you did it. It something we use and sometimes something we have to be taught to better our awareness and ourselves.

Criticle thinking is about analyzing information and the thought proces you put that information through. It is also discussing a topic and picking it apart. Asking every question that you could possible raise and looking for the answer to that question. I believe experience also plays a major part in criticle thinking because when you have went through some thing personally you can looked at it from different perspectives.

    What is Critical Thinking?
Critical thinking to me has to do with thinking more deeply about things and not just the first thing that comes to mind about the subject. It has to do with critisizing someone heavily and to try to feel what the writed or the speaker was feeling at the same time. To undestand more about where the writer or speaker is coming from. Do deep analysis about whatever it is you are reading about.

What is critical thinking? Critical thinking is the act of comprehensively scrutinizing what you hear, read and watch by researching the contents, and then drawing from that a non-biased in depth analysis of what the contents were trying to convey and why. Sometimes there are no facts being presented at all, but are presented in a factual context. The job of the critical thinker is to figure out what parts of the contents are fact or just propaganda. Don’t believe everything you hear, read or watch and sometimes taste. Take for instance, something as simple as a bag of delicious chips laden in monosodium glutamate. The critical thinker would know why the chips taste so good.

Critical thinking is the ability to deconstruct and analyze information. It is an ability one learns through education and exposure to situations where one must analyze what is fact and what is fiction. Critical thinking is most commonly associated with deconstructing arguments in a debate setting. However, critical thinking can also be used to discern one's own beliefs, messages from the media, even references to real life events in fiction novels.

Critical thinking is a vital skill. Without the ability to think critically, one can find themselves susceptible to false arguments and messages. Most commonly this is seen in the political arena, but the best example is commercial media. For example, a commercial airs advertising a kitchen appliance priced at “four easy payments” of $39.99. Many people would see $39.99 and forget to times it by four, which would bring the total cost to $159.96 plus separate shipping and handling if it came with a “gift”. A better example would be a consumer buying a car. The sales man purposely tries to trick the buyer into thinking they are getting a great deal with monthly payments of $299 with interest. Meanwhile, making sure the buyer glazes over the fact that their car loan is a six year loan.

Critical thinking is useful, if not necessary, for practical everyday use. It can help one determine which politician is the biggest liar to avoiding common pitfalls in dealing with salesmen. It is a skill that should be introduced at a young age, and revisited often.

    What is Critical Thinking?

Critical thinking, to me, is thinking deeply about the subject. Its not about taking sides, but looking over all point of views to understand the subject. It is also having an open mind about all parts of the subjects to come to a conclusion.
